MgO panels are inherently resistant to mold, mildew, and insects – making them ideal for damp environments, coastal regions, or any space where long-term performance matters. Many MgO panels are:
- Formulated with nearly 100% inorganic materials – panels won’t rot, mold, or decay over time.
- Certified under ASTM G21 testing for microbial resistance, they’re approved for use in bathrooms, kitchens, basements, breezeways, stairwells, and exterior walls in high-humidity zones.
Unlike wood (organic) or gypsum (often paper-faced), MgO panels provide no food source for fungal growth – none or very limited cellulose and organic binders are used – significantly reducing any opportunity for mold colonies to thrive.
Insect-Resistant by Nature
Thanks to their dense cementitious composition, MgO panels are completely resistant to termites, ants, and wood-boring insects. These pests can’t chew through or digest the panel, meaning your structure stays intact and pest-free for years to come – especially important in warm, humid, or tropical environments.
Long-Term Protection Built In
Whether used indoors or out, MgO panels deliver decades of protection against microbial and insect-related damage – outlasting traditional materials in tough conditions.
